Zero-power Sub-critical Device

Zero-power Sub-critical Device

A zero power subcritical assembly is a device where the nuclear-fission chain reaction is initiated and maintained using an external neutron source. It is a valuable educational and research tool where in a safe way many research can be conducted , such as experimental method research, reactor physical characteristics research, nuclear critical safety research, measuring technology research, verification of the reactor physical design code and nuclear database, training reactor operators and testing detectors and instrument.

Miniature Neutron Source Reactor(MNSR)

Miniature Neutron Source Reactor(MNSR)

MNSR is a pool-tank type reactor with low enrichment uranium (<20%= as fuel, metal beryllium as reflector, light water as moderator and coolant. The reactor power is 27kW. The heat produced by MNSR is removed by natural convection. It is mainly applied in the fields including: production of short-life tracing radioisotopes; reactor physics experiment and nuclear instrument test; training and teaching; neutron activation analysis, etc..

Multi-functional Swimming Pool Type Research Reactor

Multi-functional Swimming Pool Type Research Reactor

Multi-Functional Swimming Pool Type Research Reactor provides a platform to develop nuclear technologies and for peaceful usages of nuclear energy. The reactor power is 5~10MW. It can be tailored to the research requirements and material irradiation applications, isotope productions, single crystal silicon adulteration and BNCT.

High-performance&Multi-purpose Research Reactor

High-performance&Multi-purpose Research Reactor

China Advanced Research Reactor (CARR) is an independently-designed multifunctional research reactor with characteristics of high performance and high power. It has been used in some countries as an advanced, comprehensive research platform for nuclear science development and experimental application, including fuel element irradiation test, post-irradiation examination, material and component irradiation test, neutron scattering research, industrial and medical radioisotopes irradiation production, nuclear data measurement, neutron activation analysis, neutron radiography, BNCT and personnel training, etc..
