“Sino-Canada Symposium for Nuclear Physics & Radioactive Ion-beam Facility”, which was hosted by CIAE and sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China, opened on October 20, 2011. TRIUMF of Canada, CIAE and related institutes attended the symposium.
The main purpose of the symposium is to boost the planning and development of radioactive ion-beam facilities, strengthen the co-operations on personnel and technology between China and other countries and promote the initiation of CARIF project.
During the symposium, researchers from China and abroad presented reports on the development of radioactive ion-beam facilities in their countries, made suggestions to the CARIF project and reached consensus on the cooperation on key technologies with TRIUMF.
The attendants also visited CEFR, Tandem Accelerator and Tandem Accelerator Upgrading Project of CIAE. President Wan Gang and vice president Liu Weiping of CIAE attended the symposium.
