1. Explosives Inspection Systems
China Institute of Atomic
Energy recently developed a new explosive detector which can be used on
luggage and suit cases and have passed examination by experts from Beijing
Public Security Bureau.
Detection of hidden
explosives has become a world problem since in recent years more and more
terrorists use hidden explosives to blackmail, hijack and cause damages and
explosions.
Traditional X-ray technique
depends on operators' experience to determine whether a luggage or parcel
contains explosives, while the new detector, based on NQR technology, can
find out both explosives and radioactive materials. The system can be used
in airport, bus station, dock, customhouse and important venues.
